Gerhard Jonker

Director | Attorney & Conveyancer (B.Proc) (LLB)

Gerhard Jonker studied law on a part-time basis at the University of the Orange Free State and registered for a B.Proc. degree in 1985. He obtained his degree in Desember 1988 and was presented with his certificate on the 17th March 1989. During this time he was employed by the Department of Justice and appointed as a Judge Secretary for the Honourable Justice Justice J W Edeling.

During May 1991 he joined Hill McHardy and Herbst, a Bloemfontein attorney practice as an article clerk. During his articles he registered for the the LL.B. degree and obtained same in December 1992 and was presented with his LL.B. certificate on the 19th March 1993.

He was admitted as a practicing attorney on the 28th day of October 1993 in the Supreme Court of South Africa, Orange Free State, with right of appearance in the Supreme Court. He acted as a director at Hill McHardy and Herbst and was admitted as a conveyancer in January 2002. On the 1st of August 2005 he joined Geldenhuyse Inc. and became a director in 2006. Gerhard is a hardworking, dedicated and focused practitioner with an end result driven personality. With 25 years of experience in most of the major fields of the law he now mostly specializes in estate planning, administration of estates, contractual and commercial law, property law and conveyancing.

SP Geldenhuys

Director | Attorney  (B.Proc)

As a respected and well-known attorney in the West Coast, SP Geldenhuys continues to lead his team of selected professionals to new heights of achievement, focusing on a continued commitment to service excellence.

He obtained the degree B.PROC. at the University of Stellenbosch in 1984. Geldenhuys has experience in most major fields of law and he currently specialises in family law, contractual law, Criminal Law, general litigation and commercial law.

He also provides his services to numerous correspondent attorneys and he is on the panel for Scorpion Legal, First National Bank and Clientele.

Riette Henning

Debt Collections

Riette joined Geldenhuys & Jonker in November 2022 and has over 20 years’ experience attending to Debt collections & Litigation Matters. She is responsible for typing legal documents and pleadings, pertaining to Magistrate’s Court litigation and is able to deal with debt collection extensively and am accustomed to dicta phone typing and also often consulting with clients. Riette is a hard working individual ready to assist in any way possible.

Marertha Morkel

Litigation, Estates, Debt Collection Secretary

Maretha has 38 years valuable experience in the legal field of litigation and collections. She joined the Geldenhuys Group in 2010 and has since then gained experience in the administration of estates.

Marthie van der Westhuizen


Marthie joined Geldenhuys & Jonker Inc. during February 2023. She is the welcoming face and voice of the firm that keeps clients connected with the rest of the team.

Elna Laubscher

Senior Conveyancing Secretary

Elna Laubscher started her career at Geldenhuyse Inc, Vredenburg (now Geldenhuys Jonker Inc) on 7 October 1997, and specialises in Conveyancing.

Leandri Liebenberg


After obtaining her BA Law and LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria and completing articles, Leandri relocated to the West Coast. Upon arrival she successfully completed few conveyancing courses further expanding her knowledge in the field. She joined Geldenhuys Jonker Inc. in March 2022 working in the conveyancing department, dealing with the transfer of properties and all matters relating thereto.

Laetitia Opperman

Conveyancing Administration

Laetitia Opperman started her career at Geldenhuys Jonker Inc, Vredenburg on 1 July 2021 with 28 years conveyancing experience, and specialises in Conveyancing, which includes:

  • Registration of property transfers as well as registration of bonds for Nedbank and Absa Bank;
  • Property developments;
  • Estate Late transfers;
  • Notarial Deeds and Servitudes;
  • Drafting of all Contracts, relating to:
  • Sale of businesses and;
  • Correspondent transactions including Transfers and Bonds.
  • Consultations with clients and attending to signature of all transfer documents, bond documents, all Contracts and Correspondents’ documents (being transfer and bond documents).

Amanda Shand

Financial Manager | HR | Bookkeeper

Amanda has joined the Geldenhuyse Incorporated group in 2014 as the Financial Manager. Bookkeeping is her passion and she has been working for 30 years in this field, of which 20 years has been in Law Practice. It is a privilege to be part of such a stable law firm as Geldenhuys & Jonker Incorporated.

Nicole Childsmith

Filing / Administration Clerk / Collections Clerk

Nicole joined Geldenhuys & Jonker in 2019 and started her career as an Admin Clerk and Messenger. Through the course of November 2021 she took up additional responsibility and started as Collection Clerk assisting our Mr S.P. Geldenhuys. As a highly self-motivated individual, Nicole is driven to achieve results and has gained a lot of experience.

Hennie Leroux

Attorney (B.Juris) (LLB)

Hennie started his legal career in The Department of Justice at the beginning of 1988. During his service in the Department of Justice, he was both a prosecutor and a Magistrate in the District- and Regional Divisions of the Court.Hennie joined the defence side middle of 2007, first as Advocate of the High Court, before being admitted as Attorney in 2009. During his time as Advocate and Attorney, he was involved in litigation in both the Lower Courts and the High Court, including the Labour Court. Hennie specialize in criminal, civil, family law and general practice litigation. He have obtained 29 years of relevant legal experience.”

Petro Truter

Secretary to Hennie Le Roux
Litigation / Collections / Criminal Matters

Petro does not lack experience, as a young lady she started at the Department of Labour in Pretoria. Through the course of the 1960’s she worked as Private Secretary in Parliament for the Late Minister Alwyn Louis Schlebusch. During the 1980’s she also gained a lot of experience in service of the National Intelligence Agency working as a Cryptographer and Manager of the Communication Centre for foreign regional offices in different countries.

Petro joined Geldenhuys & Jonker Inc. in June 2017 as receptionist and have since become secretary to Mr Hennie Le Roux attending to Litigation, Collections, Criminal matters and all other required legal secretary duties.

Christa Bredenhann

Attorney, Conveyancer & Notary Public (LLB)

Christa started out as a legal secretary in collections, civil litigation, assisting in estates and other legal matters during the course of November 2006. In 2009 she did her Basic Diploma in Conveyancing and from there started her secretarial duties in conveyancing.

In 2014 she moved to the West Coast / Western Cape where she joined a law firm in Vredenburg and enrolled to study through UNISA in 2015 while working full-time. She simultaneously entered into and registered a five year articles of clerkship contract with the former Cape Law Society. During the course of 2018 / 2019 she successfully wrote and passed her admission exams, completed her LLB degree through UNISA and also sat and passed her conveyancing examination in September 2019.

Furthermore, she continued to write and pass her notary exams through the course of November 2020. Christa is now an admitted attorney, conveyancer and notary public and will continue her career at the Langebaan office of Geldenhuys & Jonker Attorneys.

Louise Steynberg

Reception & General Assistant Langebaan

Louise joined Geldenhuys & Jonker Inc. during 2019. Through the course of February 2023 she started at the Langebaan office and is the welcoming face and voice of the firm that keeps clients connected with the rest of the Langebaan team

Anja van der Merwe

Secretary to Christa Bredenhann / Conveyancing

Anja joined Geldenhuys & Jonker Inc. during January 2023 and started her career as secretary assisting in the conveyancing department, as well as general legal secretarial duties. She successfully completed a basic introduction to conveyancing course through Lexis Nexis in March 2023. Since joining our firm she has gained a lot of experience and is eager and in the process of doing more courses and gaining more experience.
